Director of Finance

Paso Robles company is hiring for a Director of Finance.
Candidates must have a Master's degree (M.
A.
) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Pay for this position starts around $60K yr and is negotiable based on experience.
This position also requires a CPA License (Certified Public Accountant)Job Duties:
Establishes, or recommends to management, major financial objectives and policies for company.
Prepares reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
Directs preparation of budgets and arranges annual budget meetings for management with the Board of Directors.
Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.
Directs determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets.
Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions.
Arranges for audits of company's accounts.
Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies.
Delegates authority for receipt, disbursement, banking, protection and custody of funds, securities, and financial instruments.
Analyzes financial records to forecast future financial position and budget requirements.
Evaluates need for procurement of funds and investment of surplus.
Advises management on investments and loans for short and long range financial plans.
Prepares financial reports for management.
Develops policies and procedures for account collections and extension of credit to customers.
Signs notes of indebtedness as approved by management.
Administers retirement plans for the companies in conjunction with outside entities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
REASONING ABILITY - Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
