Radiology Technician

POSITION SUMMARY
Radiology technologists, more commonly known as radiology technicians, perform X-rays requested by physicians to help diagnose a variety of medical issues. Radiology technicians must be able to closely follow physician instructions, prepare radiograph equipment; position patients correctly and accurately capture the requested diagnostic images. Radiology technologists must also protect the patient's safety during the X-ray procedure.
Radiology technician jobs require individuals to manipulate heavy equipment and maneuver patients who may be disabled, so it is ideal for such technicians to be in good physical condition. Radiology technologists are potentially exposed to radiation on a daily basis and must take the proper precautions to protect themselves.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of an accredited college of Radiology.
Current X-ray Technician licensure in the State of California.
Current CPR certificate.
Full command of the English language both verbal and written.
DUTIES
Preparing C-Arm and Video Camera for procedures.
Warm-up of C-Arm unit.
Loading Video Camera with printing paper.
Check all connections of equipment.
Maintain log book.
Assist staff in set-up of procedure room.
Assist with patient transport and transfers.
Assist staff as needed during procedures.
Demonstrate flexibility in workload and hours as schedule demands.
Any other duties assigned by RN Supervisor or Administrative Assistant.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Uses safe methods of handling equipment.
Makes sure staff wears lead protection during procedures.
Makes sure staff wears film badges during procedures.
Reduces chances of nosocomial infection by directing attention to infection control and environmental safety practices.
Recognizes and uses appropriate lines of communication.
Communicates positive and caring attitude toward patients, peers, staff and all other contacts.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
