Santa Maria Valley construction firm looking to hire a full-time office manager. The office manager will oversee two other office employees, deal with certified payroll/bookkeeping and other general office tasks. This is a fast moving environment, candidates will need to multi-task and be able to work independently in a stressful office setting.
This is a full-time, Monday - Friday, salaried position. Starting pay is $60,000-$65,000 depending on experience. Once hired on, the firm provides full medical and dental benefits as well as a 401K plan.
Job Details:
This position includes computing, recording, posting, calculating, verifying, maintaining records, and other tasks which will insure the day-to-day success of the accounting department.
MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Five or more years working in a Bookkeeper capacity.
Experience in Construction accounting.
Computer skills that include Windows 8, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, QuickBooks Pro, basic accounting software and ability to access the internet.
10-key by touch.
Proficient typing skills.
Visual acuity, hearing and the ability to read, write and comprehend the English language including spelling, business communications and legible handwriting.
Experience using office equipment, i.e., fax machines, postage meters, copy machines, etc.
Ability to work with numerical data and computers for extended periods of time.

ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:
Effectively utilizes the My-Tyme Planner (following minimum planning standards).
Plans and accomplishes personal goals that will assure the achievement of the organizational goals.
Organizes and maintains in a timely manner accounting, bookkeeping and record keeping documents and files (computer and manual) that are accurate and free of errors.
Maintains financial records, to include A/R, A/P, P/R, GL, J/C, chart of accounts
Prepares monthly and annual journal entries and financial statements
Prepares budget, employee costs
Prepares contracts, releases, progress billings
Prepares Inter-Co billings
Interacts with company Accountant
Banking - Deposits, Bank reconciliations, on-line banking, etc.
401(K) maintenance, reporting
Insurance maintenance
New Job Setup
Process weekly payroll, payroll tax reports, W2's, 1099's
Human resources including insurance, and vacation tracking
Effectively communicates when necessary with Foreman, Vendors, Clients, Suppliers, etc.
Other Duties and Assignments as required

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
