Job Description:
As a Medical Assistant in our pediatric practice, you will play a vital role in supporting Dr.
Kaplan and the nursing staff in the delivery of patient care.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to our young patients' health and well-being through both clinical and administrative duties.
Responsibilities:
Assist Dr.
Kaplan and nursing staff with patient care, including preparing patients for examination, assisting with minor procedures, and following up on treatment plans.
Perform routine clinical tasks such as measuring vital signs, administering vaccinations, performing simple lab tests, and collecting specimens.
Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Facilitate efficient patient flow by managing appointments, patient check-in/check-out, and billing processes.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and health maintenance.
Ensure examination rooms are sanitized, stocked, and prepared for patient visits.
Adhere to all healthcare regulations, safety standards, and practice policies.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited medical assistant program is preferred.
Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) is advantageous.
Experience in a pediatric or family medicine setting is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a special ability to interact with children and their families.
Proficient in medical software and EMR systems.
A multitasker with strong organizational skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
A commitment to upholding confidentiality, compassion, and professional ethics in all patient interactions.
