Summary:
Develops, organizes and implements high quality After School Childcare and kinderbridge program sites.
This position will primarily spend most work hours at school sites during the school season.
Non-School days, this position will be leading and involved in events such as camps, internships, field trips and other program events as assigned.
Essential Functions:
1.
Manages, directs and coordinates the after school childcare & kinderbridge programs for assigned locations.
Ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities.
Expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
2.
Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, manage, evaluates and directs personnel and volunteers as needed.
Completes all new hire paperwork and reviews with HR and new employee.
Reviews and evaluates staff performance.
Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
3.
Develops, manages and controls budgets related to the position.
Ensures program operates within budget.
4.
Ensures that YMCA and after school childcare & kinderbridge program standards are met and safety procedures followed.
5.
Provides for upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment and ensures the physical environment supports healthy living.
6.
Develops and maintains relationships with school administration, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs.
Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
7.
Provides staff leadership for annual fund raising campaign and committees as assigned.
8.
Works in concert with Curriculum Quality Control position to implement curriculum and overall quality program.
9.
Maintains proper records/department files.
10.
Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
11.
Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program.
12.
Lead and support off-school season duties as needed, such as, camps, internships, field trips, special events and other YMCA childcare programs as directed by supervisor.
Qualifications:
1.
Associate's degree in related field 2.
Spanish Bilingual Preferred 3.
One to two years related experience preferred, as a coordinator or supervisor of child care programs.
4.
Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of:
Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.
5.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
6.
Pass mandatory district ASES test or have equivalent education requirements as approved by district office.
7.
Must pass background and TB check upon hire.
8.
Clean driving record with active driver's license.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to safely supervise children's activities.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for a minimum of 4 hours.
